The term “Circular Economy” frequently comes up these days – but what exactly is this concept – and what does “Cradle to Cradle” mean? These are exactly the questions Niclas-Alexander Mauß answered in our introductory session. Niclas works at the TU Munich and is the initiator of CirculaTUM. He is also Program Manager at UnternehmerTUM, the Center for Innovation at TU Munich.

On November 24, 2020, more than 50 participants joined the first online event of the MUNA+ SDGs Event Series to learn about and discuss Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #12 “Sustainable Consumption and Production.”

In our second event on January 26, 2021, we had Shervin Ghorbani as a guest. She is a project manager and consultant for sustainability and works in Italy. In her presentation, she gave us a general introduction to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, the former German Ambassador for Niger, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Lesotho and South Africa and current Senior Advisor to the United Nations Harald Ganns was our guest at MUNA+ e.V.

With this event we continue our SDG event series and discuss SDG 4 (Quality Education) together with our guests Ottmar von Holtz (former member of the Bundestag for BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN and Adrian Bravo Motino (activist at New Destiny Foundation, the largest non-profit organization in Honduras).

In this event, from 27 April 2021, we continue our SDG event series with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). For this event we were able to win Uwe Kekeritz (former member of the Bundestag BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN) as well as Ulrich Scharf (founder and CEO of SkillLab) as guests.

In an interesting interview with SPD Co-Chair Saskia Esken, we talked about the impact of the Supply Chain Act on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In a hybrid format, our members Tobias Ergenzinger and Nikola Romic interviewed the politician. Afterwards, our member Katharina Hausfelder, together with Lutz Becker, revisited the topic of the Supply Chain Act in an in-depth discussion.

In February 2022, Matteo, Carrie and Johanna were in Milan for MUNA+ and gave a keynote speech on diversity, equity and inclusion in companies. This was the first time MUNA+ took on the role of expert at an event.

How do I integrate sustainability into my job? That was the topic of our discussion with Dr. Saskia Juretzek, formerly Senior Manager in Sustainability at the Allianz Group and now Head of Sustainability at Tengelmann, where she is responsible for the entire sustainability strategy at Group level.
